minority_business_women_web.jpgSUNRISE — The Supplier Diversity and Outreach Program of Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will present its annual Minority & Women Business Expo 2012 on how to do business with the BCPS on Thursday, August 2, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Piper High School, 8000 N.W. 44th St., Sunrise. Admission to the event is free.

The expo will include roundtable discussions with representatives from Broward County government, the Broward County Aviation Department, the city of Lauderhill Purchasing Department and the Florida Department of Transportation, on topics such as marketing your business effectively and qualifying your business as a vendor.

Participants will discover procurement and contracting opportunities available for minority and women-owned businesses and learn how to conduct business with these government agencies and with the school district.

Vendors will have an opportunity to showcase their products and services during the expo at a cost of $50. Space is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis. Business advertisements are also available in the expo program book starting at $25.

The Supplier Diversity and Outreach Program provides free programming, counseling, workshops and information to assist and educate minority and women-owned businesses about the process of becoming certified and the keys to success in government contracting.

The outstanding work of the program has created real growth and economic empowerment for minority and women-owned businesses throughout Broward County and South Florida.
