Miami-Dade County Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson joined Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD) staff in mural dedication. Members of the Curry Taylor and Allapattah neighborhood associations were also on hand for the cutting the ribbon. The ceremony marked the completion of a new wall surrounding the WASD facility, located at 3625 NW 36th St., Miami.
The 50-year-old facility houses two water storage tanks and a water pumping station. For many years the facility was enclosed by a chain link fence but residents, led by Geraldine Owens, asked that a permanent and decorative wall replace the fence and they worked with WASD to carry out the project.
