sunday_mass.jpgWorld Day of Prayer for Vocations will be celebrated worldwide on Sunday, May 15, and in the Archdiocese of Miami a special Mass will be held by Father David Zirilli, archdiocesan Vocations director.

The Mass will take place at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 200 N. University Dr., Plantation, at noon.

“At this Mass, we will be joined by Archdiocesan seminarians from both St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami and St. Vincent de Paul Major Seminary in Boynton Beach,” Zirilli said. “These 37 men have answered God’s call and are discerning their vocation. Join us as we pray for them and pray that many others will hear the voice of the Lord and choose to walk in the footsteps of Christ.”

Pope Paul VI designated Good Shepherd Sunday as World Day of Prayer for Vocations in 1963.

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, protects us as his flock and promises us the gift of eternal life. As followers of Jesus we are called to remain faithful to the grace of God.
