MIAMI GARDENS — This summer’s Miami Broward Carnival Launch was merely a tease of the pulsating energy to hit South Florida on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Sun Life Stadium where more than 20 bands will participate this year and an estimated 25,000 people are expected to attend.
The Miami Broward 2013 Carnival Season is officially here and with Carnival Connoisseurs set to participate, South Florida again will witness the vibrant colors and pulsating energy at Sun Life Stadium, 2267 N.W. 199th St. in Miami Gardens.
The Miami Broward Carnival is one of the most attended and highly esteemed festivals of South Florida, and as the active tourism season in October resumes, a full schedule of events is being planned as Carnival promises to have a major impact once again on the economy of South Florida. Signature Miami Broward Carnival Events:
Sunday, Oct. 6, Jr. Carnival, Central Broward Regional Park, 3700 N.W. 11th Pl, Lauderhill, noon – midnight. The Junior Carnival is an annual parade and Caribbean inspired family event that gives young people the opportunity to celebrate their place within the Caribbean culture. Admission $5.
Friday, Oct. 11, King and Queen and Panorama, Carnival Village, Central Broward Regional Park, 3700 N.W. 11th Pl, Lauderhill, 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Performances by Lauderhill Steel Ensemble, Miami Pan Symphony, New Generation Branches, Pantastic Steel , Resurrection Steel and Silver Stars USA. Admission $12 in advance, more at the park.
Saturday, Oct. 12, J’Ouvert, Central Broward Regional Park, 3700 N.W. 11th Pl, Lauderhill, 7 a.m. Featuring Steel Band and DJ Music, Body Paint, Mud, Water, Powder. More than 20 masquerade bands participating. Admission $12 in advance, more at the park.
