lauryn-hill_web.jpgLauryn Hill, Charlie Wilson and Al Jarreau are among some of the top artists who have signed on to perform in the sixth annual edition of the increasingly popular Jazz in the Gardens.

Jazmine Sullivan, Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick “The Ruler” will join them for the first day of the festival slated for Saturday, March 19.

The March 20 line-up includes Gladys Knight, EnVogue, El DeBarge, Lalah Hathaway and Branford Marsalis.

Joining the star-studded cast, and adding his unique and internationally renowned mixing skills will be Miami’s own bright star, D.J. Irie, the official DJ for The Miami Heat.

The city of Miami Gardens sponsors the show.

“Jazz in the Gardens is more than a concert,” Mayor Shirley Gibson said in a statement announcing the performers.”It is an opportunity and experience that people want to enjoy year after year.”

The festival, she said, “brings added value to the city and to South Florida in general.”
