HAMILTON — The government is now allowing Bermudans citizens to sell their houses to foreigners, as part of a new policy to attract high-end investors to the island.
National Security Minister Wayne Perinchief said in a statement that only properties valued at least $177,000 will be for sale. The government has not yet said whether the new policy also would apply to condominiums. The government previously allowed foreigners to buy houses and condominiums on the island but only from other foreigners, to protect the local market amid a global economic crisis.
