MIAMI – Blood pressure checks were among the free medical screenings provided during the Jefferson Reaves Sr. Health Center health fair for adults and children in Overtown on Saturday, March 23.
There was free testing for blood pressure, blood glucose, pregnancy and HIV, free dental screenings for adults and children, as well as an opportunity for members of the community to learn about fitness and wellness while connecting with local healthcare organizations.
People of all ages turned out for healthy cooking demonstrations, exercise classes and information on lifestyles.
The Jefferson Reaves Sr. Center, 1009 N.W. Fifth Ave., Miami, is a comprehensive primary care clinic, open weekdays, that provides medical services to residents of all ages and income levels through the participation of Jackson Health System.
