LAKE WORTH — A coalition of nonprofit organizations has joined to create a free Community Health Fair, Saturday, March 24 in downtown Lake Worth.

Families are welcomed to the new community health fair that will feature a wide variety of free health screenings, family fun activities and free food, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. outside of Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church, 1325 North “A” St., three blocks north of 10th Avenue North.

There is no cost for the health fair, and a hot dog lunch will be provided for all registered attendees. Gift certificates will be raffled off for those who participate in a brief survey.

The Health Fair will offer free services including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and rapid HIV testing, body fat analysis, blood pressure and hearing screenings, and minor physical assessments

For children, the health fair will feature face painting, a bounce house and refreshments.

Sponsored by Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church, Genesis Community Health, Nuevo Pacto Church and One Hope, the health fair is a joint effort by a coalition of faith-based organizations to make taking care of one’s health accessible, easy and enjoyable.

“This is an opportunity for us to communicate to our neighbors and friends how much can be done to preserve and maintain their health and the health of their family members,” said fair organizer Ron Vanderwey. “Everyone’s health is a

priority because the well-being of our community rests with each individual remaining well and strong and knowing what resources are available to them.”
