Sharon Wilson, a member of the Board of Trustees of Florida Memorial University, was recently elected to a second term as president of the Bahamas Senate. Wilson, a 1971 graduate of Miami Gardens-based FMU, served as Senate president from 2002-2007.
At the time, she became the first woman to be elected to the post. She was sworn into office by Christine Brown,
first assistant secretary in the Cabinet Office and
assistant clerk of the Senate during ceremonies.
