TALLAHASSEE (AP) _ Gov. Charlie Crist says Florida’s fuel supply has not been affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, but residents have reported some gas stations are hiking prices unnecessarily in the storm’s wake.
As of Sunday morning, the Attorney General’s Office had received 317 complaints about gasoline price gouging related to Hurricane Ike.
Residents are being asked to photograph the price signs of stores they suspect of gouging or keep receipts if they do make a purchase. Reports of price gouging can be called in to 1-800-HELP-FLA or reported on a state website, www.myfloridalegal.com.
