The Progressive Firefighters Association Charities Inc., in conjunction with the Progressive Officers Club, the Florida Coalition of Black State Troopers and the Beauty Schools of America will hold a back-to-school bookbag giveaway, Friday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Joseph Caleb Center, Room 110, 5400 N.W. 22nd Ave., Miami
One thousand bookbags will be given away to the first 1,000 kids attending with a parent. Each bookbag also will include school supplies. In addition, Beauty Schools of America will provide limited haircuts and manicures.
“At a time when families are in real need,” said the organizers, “this is an opportunity to give back to the community we all serve.
