The Times-Picayune reported that David Quidd was arrested Friday after the committee received an audit showing $7,000 was missing from the group's bank accounts.

Authorities said no bond had been set for Quidd, who remained in jail Saturday.

Quidd also represents the 1st Congressional District on the Democratic State Central Committee and has unsuccessfully run for state House of Representatives seats several times.

He also served as a 2008 presidential elector for Barack Obama. It could not be determined Saturday if Quidd had an attorney.
