DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Palm Beach County officials have informed the day care where a toddler died in a hot van earlier this month that the agency was planning to revoke the center's operating license.
The Palm Beach County Health Department hand delivered a letter Tuesday to the attorney representing the owners of Katie's Kids Learning Center.
The letter specifically cites seven serious local and state violations. Authorities say 2-year-old Haile Brockington was left in the van on Aug. 5 for more than seven hours.
A former worker at the center, Amanda Inman, was charged Monday with aggravated manslaughter of a child.
The attorney for the day care owners says she's planning to file a request for a hearing, where all the circumstances of the case can come to light.
