bill-clinton_web.jpgNEW YORK – Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized in New York City on Thursday after complaining of chest pains, according to CNN.

Clinton was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest, the news network reported.

He underwent an operation on Thursday to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries, according to a statement obtained by CNN.

He was reportedly "in good spirits" following the procedure.

Clinton had a quadruple bypass operation in 2004 to free four blocked arteries.

He has recently been instrumental in efforts to bring relief to earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
