julius_scruggs.jpgKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The annual gathering of the country's largest black denomination is wrapping up in downtown Kansas City.

Members of the National Baptist Convention U.S.A. have been sharing the gospel throughout the community since the event started Monday.

The gathering will end with baptism service Friday night.

Participants also have listened to musical performances, attended sessions on challenges facing black churches and helped to conduct a revival at the Jackson County Department of Corrections.

The theme of the event is "Solidarity With the Savior.''
