red_web.jpgMIAMI – More than 100 graduating seniors of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project have been recognized as 2013 scholarship recipients.

Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, the program’s founder, awarded scholarships to the students in a ceremony held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Miami.

Wilson also awarded a scholarship to Role Model Jhavaris Fulton, brother of slain Miami-Dade County Public Schools student Trayvon Martin.

Fulton is a student at Florida International University. Role Model Paul V. Wilson, Miami-Dade County Public Schools administrative director for Labor Relations, was the keynote speaker. For more information visit 5000RoleModels.com
