Youth ages 5-14 can now register for the NBA Youth Basketball League in West Palm Beach.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Basketball is more than a game. It’s fun, entertaining and exciting, but it also teaches sportsmanship, respect and teamwork.

Registration is currently open for the City of West Palm Beach Jr. NBA Youth Basketball League. Children ages 5-14, residents and non-residents can participate.

The League Divisions include: 5-6 yearolds; 7-8 year-olds; 9-11 year olds; and 12-14 year-olds.

The cost is $50 for residents and $65 for non-residents. All participants must also pay a $25 annual registration fee. There is fee assistance available for those who qualify.

The league meets at South Olive Community Center, Gaines Park and Coleman Park.

The registration deadline is Friday, October 20 and practices begin the week of October 30. The league officially begins play the week of November 13.

There will be a seven-week league play season with single elimination playoffs.
