NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Vanderbilt University professor has written a book about the personal prayers of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

 

 

“Never to Leave Us Alone: The Prayer Life of Martin Luther King Jr.,” by Lewis V. Baldwin, is to be released this month by Fortress Press.

Baldwin is associate professor in religious studies at Vanderbilt and has written several other books about the civil rights leader.

According to The Tennessean newspaper, the book draws on King’s personal prayers that he recited throughout his life.

Baldwin is a scholar in black church traditions.
