DELRAY BEACH – The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum in Delray Beach is celebrating the holidays for the next three months with community programs, cultural fundraisers and a month devoted to Black History.

Kwanzaa Celebration, Dec. 26, 2 – 5 p.m.

170 NW 5th Ave., Delray Beach Free; donations welcomed Kwanzaa is a Pan-African holiday designed to strengthen and celebrate the best of African culture and heritage. The Spady Museum will condense the weeklong observance into an afternoon of community celebration. The event will welcome families to celebrate the holidays by making their own gifts and enjoying live music, art activities, storytelling for children, and food. The event will be held outside on the museum grounds.

Five community-minded organizations will join together to infuse the observance with the seven principles of Kwanzaa for a rich and memorable experience. Unity, a concept that was kept from African Americans during the founding of the country, is an important principle to learn, adopt and practice. The Kwanzaa Celebration is hosted by Spady Museum in collaboration with the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the Sankofa Study Group, and Pyramid Books, and sponsored by HARAMBE Sponsor Eric’s Wrench.
