FORT LAUDERDALE — In an effort to provide patients and the community with enhanced access to wellness services, Broward Health Medical Center has opened a spa within the hospital.
Lavender Spa provides facials, massage, body treatments, therapy wraps, manicures and pedicures, and more. Services may be enjoyed in the Lavender Spa or within the privacy of patients’ rooms.
The spa cart, operated by Suite Spa, is a portable and self-contained fully-equipped spa treatment room. The cart features a massage table, steamer, nail table, hot cabbie, sound system and more, transforming a patient’s room into a multi-sensory, spa-like environment.
“Lavender Spa is another step in Broward Health’s effort to enhance overall wellness in the patient experience for our community,” said Calvin Glidewell, the hospital’s CEO. “Additions like this and the renovations to the luxury private suites in BHMC’s Maternity
Place help us treat the well-being of the whole person – from the physical to the emotional.” Spa services are available à la carte or as part of a package. Special packages, such as “Mommy-to-Be” and “Body Unwind,” are designed for clients who are seeking head-to-toe rejuvenation, whether pre-baby, post-procedure, or simply as a break during a busy day.
Lavender Spa’s services use products that have natural anti-oxidants and incorporate organic botanicals, essential oils and herbs. Seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients will be used to help develop new products that will be incorporated into Spa’s menu, thanks to its collaboration with the BHMC farmer’s market program.
Services are by appointment only and are available Monday through Friday, 11a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule your appointment online at BrowardHealth.org/spa, or by calling 954-759-7500. Gift certificates are available.
