Local businessman and philanthropist Jeff Greene donated $30,000 last month to Northmore Elementary School, one of the elementary schools in the City of West Palm Beach.

The money will allow teachers at the school to receive training in one of the industry’s latest breakthroughs in classroom management and learning. Northmore’s faculty will have the chance to learn about and implement the techniques of Conscious Discipline, a longtime leader in integrating classroom management and social-emotional learning. It utilizes everyday events rather than an external curriculum, and addresses the adult’s emotional intelligence as well as the child’s.

The donation is part of a joint effort by West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio and the Palm Beach County School District to target Northmore Elementary School and provide the resources needed to improve the school’s performance.
