Congresswoman Frederica Wilson

To celebrate Women’s History Month and the accomplishments of several women with ties to South Florida, The Little Haiti Cultural Center (LHCC) is presenting the inaugural International Women’s Brunch. Among the honorees are U.S. Congresswoman Frederica Wilson; Entrepreneur Carole Ann Taylor of CulturestoGo.com;

Restaurateur Michelle Bernstein; Graylyn Swilley-Woods; Associate Vice President of Business and Education Development at the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau; and Joanne Hyppolite, Curator at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.The aim of the brunch is to recognize the women with the Visionary Award for embodying the multicultural spirit of the center.

The event will also serve as the launch of the Pretty it Forward initiative. To that end, attendees are asked to bring gently worn dinner, cocktail or evening dresses and accessories that will be later featured in the upcoming Chic Mademoiselle Pop Up store at the LHCC gallery on April 29 – 30. All proceeds collected from the re-sale of the dresses will go toward funding LHCC programming.
