FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The American Red Cross and City of Fort Lauderdale continued working this week to address the needs of those impacted by the recent flooding in South Florida. The emergency aid organization reported that the number of shelters had decreased as caseworkers met with residents to offer a recovery plan and additional recovery resources. The record rain in South Florida resulted in widespread damage to homes and cars, as well as gas shortages that began easing Wednesday. PHOTO COURTESY OF AMERICAN RED CROSS
