NEW YORK (AP) _ The New York City health department says the West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes. But no human cases have been reported so far this season.

The infected mosquitoes were collected from the neighborhoods of Glen Oaks in Queens and New Dorp Beach on Staten Island.

The health department is setting up more traps and treating catch basins, marshland and areas that have standing water.
