Miami, Fla. – Wali Salahuddin and his wife Rovina of Miami took time out for brunch at Red Rooster Overtown on Saturday, April 3. On their menu were biscuits with hot honey butter/C.K.’s Chicken and Waffle and deviled eggs. International celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, who according to WLRN news opened his Red Rooster Harlem restaurant in 2010, whose Marcus Samuelsson Group has a dozen owned or licensed restaurants in five countries, and who opened his newest on Dec. 3, 2020 in the historically Black Overtown neighborhood, after two false starts due to the pandemic, recently told WLRN, "It was very important for us to open, to not give in to the pandemic." FORT LAUDERDALE – This weekend the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host the Southern Region and the National Arts & Letters Commission “2020-2021 Virtual Delta Authors on Tour.”

The two-hour Delta Authors on Tour (DAOT) will be held virtually on Saturday, April 10, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The DAOT is a free event; register at eventbrite.com

The gathering of Delta Authors will promote literacy, writing and publishing, organizers said, and gives added exposure while promoting book sales in the community.

Authors will provide insight on their work, there will be book giveaways and a Question & Answer session. Hosts for the event will be radio talent Tamara G. along with special entertainment.
