SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ One man was arrested and two were at large after authorities raided the largest marijuana grow in Santa Clara County with an estimated street value of $16 million.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1VfdynZ) the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office raided a large marijuana growing operation near Alum Rock Park Friday in San Jose.

Spokesman Sgt. James Jensen says a search of the grow site turned up roughly 7,500 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $16 million and two semiautomatic handguns.

He says that as deputies approached the site they spotted three men. One was immediately taken into custody but the other two escaped. The site had previously been used as a marijuana garden at least three times.

Jensen says the park was closed for the day and children at a summer camp there were taken to safety.
