WEST PALM BEACH – A Florida mother has been arrested after officials say she attacked her son’s teacher inside a classroom.
Media outlets report that Palm Beach County School District police arrested 30-year-old Shakira Green on Tuesday.
According to an arrest report, Green went into the second-grade teacher’s classroom at West Palm Beach’s Roosevelt Elementary School on Dec. 17 and threatened to attack her.
Police say Green hit the 57-year-old teacher, who blacked out and was taken to a hospital. School officials say the teacher hasn’t returned to school.
The school’s principal, Sharonda Alleyne, says the attack was an isolated incident and students were never in jeopardy.
Green is charged with battery on a school board employee. She remained in jail on bail late Wednesday. It isn’t clear if she has an attorney.
