WEST PALM BEACH — The country’s largest indigenous Muslim-American community returns to South Florida on Sept. 28-30 as the Florida Conference of Muslim Americans hosts its next statewide regional meeting at the Embassy Suites hotel in West Palm Beach.
Connections: Al-Islam Calls for Unity in the Faith Community is the theme of the Fall 2012 Family & Community Enrichment Conference, which will feature popular imams Dr. Nasir Ahmed of Miami, Abdul Haq’Muhammed of Fort Myers and others from around the state and nation.

The FCMA is part of the national Muslim-American community of students of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, recognized worldwide for building bridges across religious and ethnic lines based on universally shared human values.
The public again is particularly invited for a conference highlight: the Unity Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, which will be attended by interfaith friends and clergy, elected and law enforcement officials, educators and others.
Following the Unity Luncheon, a major Town Hall Meeting on The State of Interfaith is set to feature diverse spiritual leaders, with C.B. Hanif, managing editor of the South Florida Times, as moderator.
Other highlights include sessions on Marriage and Family, Business, children’s fun activities and a cultural segment featuring Florida Memorial University jazz great Melton Mustafa.
