chad_johnson_2.jpgFORT LAUDERDALE – Prosecutors have charged former Miami Dolphins wide reciever Chad Johnson with one count of misdeamor domestic battery.

Johnson was arrested August 11 at his Davie home after allegedly getting into a physical dispute with wife, Evelyn Lozada.

According to police, Lozada, accused Johnson of head-butting her while the couple couple argued.

Lozada suffered a cut to her forehead.

Johnson's arraignment is scheduled for Thursday morning, but a spokesperson for the Broward State Attorney's Office says he is expected to submitt a written plea as opposed to appearing court.

He is expected to file a written plea of not guilty and is not expected to be in court.

If convicted, Johnson faces up to one year in jail.
