Just back from London, where she and her sister Serena won a gold medal in the women's doubles tennis competition, Venus Williams turned out for the groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 10 of My Choice Academy, a new elementary charter school.
It is being built at 1345 Watertower Road, Lake Park, and will offer classes for kindergarten to fifth grade students with a focus on science, technology, engineering and math.
My Choice Academy founder Altermease Kendrick teamed up with Ahrens Construction, as the builder, and Williams’ interior design company V Starr Interiors for the project.
