The confirmation of the school’s status, which is valid through 2020, “proves that our business school is credible and competitive,” said Abass Entessari, SOB dean. “We have a challenging and stimulating environment that is producing the next generation of business leaders.”

The university received official notification from ACBSP following an extensive process that started in 2010 and included a site visit by education and industry experts.

Barry Aristide, a 2005 Business graduate, said the school “helped him grow” and prepared him for his career in the federal government.

“I gained a lot of knowledge and gained exposure to best practices. In my current job I use a lot of the customer service,” he added. “At FMU, my professors stressed customer service. I was taught that it’s not enough to have a great product. You must have great customer service to go along with it.”

All SOB faculty members have doctorates. The school confers bachelor degrees in Finance, Marketing, Accounting and Business Administration. FMU launched a master of Business Administration program in 2006.

“We offer the region’s most affordable and accessible part-time, accredited MBA program,” noted Robert Pellegrino, MBA program director.
