RIVIERA BEACH —The National League of Cities (NLC) has re-appointed Riviera Beach City Councilman Shelby L. Lowe to several national committees, including those focused on national transportation issues, leadership training and community and regional development.
With his first selections in 2009, Councilman Lowe became the first elected official in the City to win any national appointments through the NLC since Riviera Beach became a charter member in 1988.
This year represents his third term on these committees:
1. Transportation Infrastructure & Services.
2. CityFutures Panel on Community and Regional Development.
3. Small Cities Council.
4. Leadership Training Council.
Councilman Lowe is meeting with his national committee colleagues during the NLC’s annual Congressional Cities Conference in Washington, D.C., this week
“It is an honor to be able to serve with, and learn from, so many municipal leaders from across the country,” Councilman Lowe said, “plus, it raises the City’s profile.”
