MIAMI, Fla. – Educational field trips produce a positive, lasting impact on education and careers, according to studies. And they are fun. As the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project celebrates its 30th Anniversary we also commemorate three decades of hosting field trips – interrupted only by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now we are back.

“Our partnership with the Miami Seaquarium has spanned multiple decades and owners,” says Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, founder of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project. “We thank the Seaquarium as these trips are particularly important for disadvantaged students, as they provide students with unique opportunities that level the playing field.”

Role Model chapter members ages 9 to 19 from elementary, middle, K-8 and high schools will discover what is billed as South Florida’s best aquarium and favorite visitor attraction. They are scheduled to see amazing marine mammal shows, sea life exhibits and learn about wildlife rescue and marine animal care.
