Pembroke Park, Fla. – The 100 Black Men of South Florida’s 31st Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive took place Saturday at Feeding South Florida in Pembroke Park.

More than 70,000 people were served through the community collaboration whose partners also included Publix, UPS, FPL, NOMI Health, SMC Medical Center, the Chris and Yvette Palermo Family Foundation, United Teachers of Dade, and International Tech Partners.

Publix and UPS have been 100 Black Men of South Florida’s partners for more than 20 years. During the coronavirus pandemic, the 100 needed a facility that allowed them the flexibility to adhere to covid protocols and still serve the community. Feeding South Florida stepped in to assist.

The 100 Black Men South Florida Chapter was founded in 1989 with “Four for the Future” programmatic initiatives: mentoring, education, economic empowerment, and health & wellness.

The organization’s signature programming has included the Dr. Harold Guinyard Leadership Academy, Positive Youth Development, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Christmas Shopping Spree, and College and the Career Expo serving more than 70,000 people in South Florida.
