Across the district there were 1,352 AP Scholars, 449 AP Scholars with Honors, 770 AP Scholars with Distinction and 161 National AP Scholars.
The AP Scholar Award levels are as follows:
• AP Scholar: Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams
• AP Scholar with Honor: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
• AP Scholar with Distinction: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams
• National AP Scholar: Granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams
The Advanced Placement Incentive Program aims to increase access to Advanced Placement courses by boosting participation and performance among traditionally underserved students.
The high schools which distinguished themselves include: Boynton Beach, three AP Scholars; Glades Central, two AP Scholars; Lake Worth, 14 AP Scholars, two Scholars with Honor and two Scholars with Distinction; Palm Beach Lakes, three AP Scholars, Santaluces, 24 AP Scholars, four Scholars with Honor, five Scholars with Distinction, and one National AP Scholar.
