CHICAGO (AP) _ Michelle Obama's former chief of staff has landed a new gig at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Susan Sher had worked in legal and governmental affairs there before she went to Washington. Her new job is executive vice president for corporate strategy and public affairs. Sher also is serving as senior advisor on health care issues to the university president.
In her two years at the White House, Sher worked for Michelle Obama and as a presidential assistant focusing on legal issues related to health care reform. Sher was also White House Liaison to the Jewish community.
A university announcement says her new job started Monday. The first lady's office announced Sher's departure last fall.
