Denver, Colo. and DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – “Somewhere in a Rainbow,” by Rasheedah Sharif, is subtitled: “Living in a world with a mental or substance problem is like living in a world of unconscious and conscious paranoia and loneliness.”
With a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling, and certified in Exceptional Student Education, Sharif knows her subject. Through the course of her career she developed programs for students and clients using nontraditional methods for teaching and selfdiscovery.
Based on Sharif’s life, “Somewhere in a Rainbow” takes its readers on a journey filled with love, pain, hopelessness and healing. Readers are emerged into the life of Rose, as she recounts her life
to her therapist for the very first time. Readers hold her hand each step of the way as Rose brings up her painful past in hopes of healing and breaking the cycle of abuse and self-destruction. Sharif also is the author of “Don’t Come Down from the Chinaberry Tree,” a collection of stories based on her life. She said she believes that through faith and self-awareness, the ability to grow and evolve is inevitable. She has four sons and four daughters, and says her children are the source of her inspiration.
“Somewhere In A Rainbow” is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble and the author’s website, rasheedahsharif.com. “Rainbow” also can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers from the Outskirts Press Direct bookstore at outskirtspress.com/bookstore.
