TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ The Library of Congress has added recordings and images from Florida to its online collection of American folklife. Florida Secretary of State Kurt Browning on Friday said Florida's inclusion in the National Sample Project follows Rhode Island, Illinois and California.
The Sunshine State's sampler website documents Florida folklorists Zora Neale Hurston and Stetson Kennedy.
It includes recordings of a glass bottom boat tour guide at Wakulla Springs, African-American gospel singing, a Seminole Indian lullaby, longshoremen's chants, Greek, Cuban and Bahamian folk musicians and prison inmates' song.
The site can be accessed at http://www.loc.gov/folklife/sampler/FLsampler.html
