Diggs has been named president of the Broward Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Broward Health, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the nation. In his new role, Diggs will oversee the Foundation’s fund development, major gifts, annual giving, special events and all capital campaign initiatives.
Most recently Diggs was president of the Mourning Family Foundation and prior to that, served as president and CEO of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce. Diggs brings proven leadership and management experience to the Foundation as well as a desire to support Broward Health patients and their families.
“With more than 25 years of working with corporations and non-profit organizations, Bill is uniquely positioned to further the mission of the Broward Health Foundation to help raise funds that will improve the lives of Broward County residents,” said Broward Health Foundation Board Chair Kyle C. Boos. “We welcome Bill and are looking forward to working with him to provide critical funding that supports the health of our community.”
Active in the South Florida Community, Diggs is the board chairman for KIPP Miami and a board member of CareerSource South Florida. He also serves on the national board of the Washington D.C.-based National Center for Family Philanthropy and is the board chairman for Clark Atlanta University Beta Psi 1923 Foundation, Inc. Diggs is a past president and a founding member of the 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc.
Diggs was selected as the CEO of the Year in 2008 by The South Florida Business Journal. He is listed as one of Miami’s Top Leaders by Miami Today, and was also selected by the United States Small Business Administration as the Minority Small Business Champion of the Year in 2011. Diggs graduated from Clark Atlanta University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
