ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) College of Law students were recently rec ognized by the Ninth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee for outstanding law student pro bono volunteer work.
Brittanii Wade and Elisa Schneider volunteered at the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. Schneider volunteered with the Guardian ad Litem Department. Wade volunteered with the Intake Department which covers family law, immigration law, consumer law, housing law and sealing/expunction of records. Both students were nominated for the Outstanding Law Student Pro Bono Volunteer Work recognition by the Legal Aid Society for their tremendous contributions.
As Legal Aid Society volunteers, both law students interacted with the public, assisted with the case intake process and other tasks.
The students were recognized at the Orange County Bar luncheon on January 24, 2019 in downtown Orlando. Both law students received certificates from the Honorable Heather Pinder Rodriquez and Melody Lynch, former president of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association.
