MIAMI – For nearly 20 years, Girl Power has provided programs to help empower young girls to get more out of life. Established in 2000 by the World Literacy Crusade of Florida, “Girl Power encourages young girls to build confidence, competence and pride within themselves,” and for the past several years, its Gospel Explosion Brunch has generated revenue to fund the organization’s programming.
This year, the 6th Annual Gospel Explosion Brunch is scheduled for Sunday Nov. 4 at Beth David Congregation, 2625 SW 3rd Avenue, in Miami, where attendees will be feted to a performance by the Girls Choir of Miami, under the leadership of choir director Tiffany N. Thorne. The highly anticipated show will include a salute to the “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin; as well as a joint performance with Stellar Award nominated gospel sensation, Sensere, a nine- piece rhythmic gospel band that’s performed with national gospel artists Ty Tribbett and Mary Mary.
“The tenacity and resilience of young girls can never be underestimated. Their beauty, creativity and talent are to be nurtured, protected and supported.
I invite you to join us and ensure quality programming for the girls we serve. The support we receive from donors, partners and friends allow us to make this happen as we come together to improve our world, one girl at a time,” said Thema Campbell, CEO of Girl Power Inc.
The star-studded affair also includes celebrity chefs Chef Irie and Chef Amaris Jones.
The venue, Beth David Congregation, has contributed to the organization’s mission by donating the space for Girl Power Inc.’s annual brunch fundraiser for each of its six years.
Tickets for the Girl Power 6th Annual Gospel Brunch start at $100 and can be purchased at EventBrite at www.eventbrite.com/e/girl-powers-6th-annual-gospel- brunch-explosion-tickets-47864386669. All proceeds support Girl Power Programming.
