MONROE, Ga. (AP) _ A coalition of black lawmakers and social justice groups are marking the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a march highlighting the unsolved lynching of four sharecroppers.
The Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials is leading the annual march on the Moore's Ford Bridge on Saturday and issuing a continued call for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for killing Roger and Dorothy Malcom and George and Mae Murray Dorsey.
Among the invited groups are the NAACP, SCLC and Rainbow/PUSH.
Rep. Tyrone Brooks of Atlanta, who has long championed the effort for justice in the case, says joining the fight to solve the slayings was among King's last priorities before he was killed.
