Derek Negron of Carol City Middle School was named the 2018 Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) Assistant Principal of the Year.
Negron has been employed by M-DCPS since 2005 when he as a teacher at Barbara Hawkins Elementary School. His service to students, educators, the community and all stakeholders is founded upon dedication and excellence. Negron was honored for being a “knowledgeable, highly caring and committed educational leader who is doing great things for our students and community,” said District 1 School Board Member, Steve Gallon III.
