Staff Report
The void that results from losing a loved one lingers; however, despite the loss, survivors are often left with beautiful memories. Visiting a loved one’s gravesite can provide solace; however, for many families, distance can make this option challenging. Belovedones.love, a new memorial and obituary site for Caribbean families, provides an opportunity to pay respects to deceased loved ones regardless of proximity to their final resting place.
BelovedOnes.love provides an opportunity to pay respects to deceased loved ones online while also celebrating a family’s culture by posting according to its respective country. The innovative site allows guests to click on their country’s flag to post tributes to their loved ones that reference their beloved homeland.
A first of its kind for the Caribbean, the site allows guests to upload photos that can be accessed by family and friends around the world. The site includes an obituary section to announce the deaths of newly deceased family members. It also includes a memorial section to remember loved ones who passed away from as far back as 1910.
Created by Marlene Day, publisher of “Kotch” magazine, the site helps transform the unpleasant but inevitable into an opportunity for families to document their loved ones’ life and legacy. For more information, visit BelovedOnes.Love.
