MIAMI GARDENS – The Embrace Girls Foundation received quite the holiday surprise recently. The program’s Parkview Elementary site had a classroom designed by lifestyle design expert, Martin Amado from SoFlo Home Project, which airs at 11 a.m. every Saturday on Local 10. Issa Asad, Founder/CEO of Q Link Wireless, the third largest lifeline carrier in the United States, sponsored the project, which was revealed on Dec.12.

“We’ve had a very busy December – a sleepover at the Museum of Science and Discovery, Ferdinand movie screening and several on site social skills workshops, but to end our year with this awesome experience is simply priceless,” said Renaya Jackson, site director for the Embrace Girls Foundation Parkview Elementary School site in Miami Gardens, where more than two dozen 2nd-4th graders meet daily and are taught to be healthy, confident and ambitious young ladies who strive for academic excellence and service before self.

The Q Link team of 18 spent the day at the school painting, assembling furniture and assisting Amado in coordinating a multi-task room that includes a living room setting, reading corner, play and pamper area and most of all, space the girls can use to study and complete their daily homework. Amado got emotional when explaining to the guests at the unveiling that the project was truly a labor of love. Local 10 aired the full transformation process on Dec. 23.
