FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Outstanding high school performers from Broward County Public Schools will take center stage for the 18th annual Stars on Parade extravaganza today, March 2 at 7:30 p.m., in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Admission is free and the public is invited to enjoy the event that features solo and ensemble dance, music and theater performances. Many of the talented students have already received the “Critics Choice Award” given by the State of Florida for their accomplishments in the performing arts.

A highlight of the evening will occur when seniors from Broward County Public Schools receive Arts for the Future Scholarships to continue their studies in the visual, performing and technical arts at colleges, universities and educational training institutions.

The Arts for the Future Scholarship Fund is a community-wide initiative to promote artistic career opportunities for graduating seniors. One of the largest programs of its kind in the nation, the fund has bestowed scholarships to more than 850 talented high school seniors since 1999.

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is located in the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District at 201 SW Fifth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

The Broward Center 2016-2017 season is presented by the Broward Performing Arts Foundation with generous support from a variety of sponsors.
