Spend a relaxing evening learning about the grapes and styles of wines from Tuscany that are made in America. For $20, the event will allow participants to sample food and wines inspired by Tuscany.

The March 23 event doubles as a celebration of the 2016 Read Together Palm Beach book choice The Light in the Ruins by Chris Bohjalian. Read Together was launched in 2002 to encourage adults throughout the county to read the same book.

Read Together chairwoman Sharon Hill describes Bohjalian’s novel as “a highly readable and entertaining story … of love, despair, and revenge — set in World War II-ravaged Italy” that offers plenty of ideas to discuss and debate. Literacy Coalition CEO Kristin Calder noted that the book was described by Oprah Winfrey as a must-read book, while People magazine called it suspenseful to the end. The event is scheduled for March 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mandel Public Library, 411 Clematis Street in West Palm Beach.
