Scandal fans have been dealing with withdrawal symptoms for the past several months in anticipation of the new season of Olivia and Papa Pope and all the shenanigans that come along with being a gladiator. TV mogul, Shonda Rhimes, is back with her monopoly on Thursday nights with back to back programming, beginning with Grey’s Anatomy’s 12th season and the second season of the Rhimes produced ‘How to Get Away with Murder;’ for which actress Viola Davis has been nominated for an Emmy.

Shondaland’s TGIT (Thank God it’s Thursday) line up kicks off on Sept. 24 with Grey’s Anatomy at 8 p.m.; Scandal at 9 p.m. and How to Get Away With Murder at 10 p.m. on ABC.

Empire’s debut last season made ratings history as its viewing audience continued to grow each week. Taraji P. Henson has been nominated for an Emmy for her scene stealing portrayal as Cookie Lyons. Viewers might see less of her ex-hubby, Lucious Lyons, played by Terrance Howard. Apparently, Howard’s been generating unfavorable publicity for himself via his very public divorce proceedings that include allegations of domestic violence. Actress Vivica Fox has joined the cast as Cookie’s sister.

Empire returns on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox. 

One show that gives Empire fans a very good reason to set their DVRs is the hilarious and very well written blackish, starring Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishburn. Emmy nominated-Anderson and Ross play upper middle class black parents to three children whose suburban upbringing has their father (Anderson’s character, Dre) attempting to remind them of their blackness. The show is perfectly cast and includes stellar performances by the three child actors who will likely have long acting careers.

For entrepreneurs, wanna-be-entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning important aspects of business, Shark Tank returns with its creative format of business moguls hearing pitches from eager entrepreneurs looking to create or expand on business ideas. FUBU founder Daymond John is one of the judges and viewers can look to him for wise, thoughtful counsel on successful business pursuits.

Shark Tank returns on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on ABC. 

With its innovative approach to discovering new talent by essentially focusing on the voice instead of the appearance, The Voice has become a fan favorite. Multi-talented Pharrell joins fellow judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani in a battle to produce the next great singing superstar.

The Voice returns on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on NBC

Fans of Steven Spielberg’s brilliant thriller, Minority Report, can catch a TV version of the smart movie with a weekly drama of the same name. Meagan Good plays the brash, but shrewd detective Lara Vega on the show that follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen.

Minority Report debuts on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
