In an effort to get the young, hip crowd into seats at Sun Life Stadium, the Florida Marlins have invited Sean “Diddy’’ Combs to perform after their game on Saturday, July 24.
Marlins fans can stick around after the game against the Atlanta Braves to catch the rapper/actor/entrepreneur perform at the Baker Concrete Marlins Super Saturdays event.
Diddy, who calls South Florida his “second home,” is a regular fixture on the South Beach nightclub scene. Formerly known as “Puff Daddy” and “P-Diddy,” the master of reinvention and self-proclaimed “Bad Boy” is also a shrewd businessman.
In addition to a music empire that began with an internship at New York’s Uptown Records, Diddy was instrumental in launching the careers of hip-hop queen Mary J. Blige and late rapper The Notorious B.I.G., as well as producing some of the hottest acts in the music industry. He has his own clothing line, vodka, cologne and reality shows. On Sept. 20, Diddy will release his sixth studio album, Last Train to Paris.
Joining Diddy at the Marlins’ concert will be his new group, Dirty Money, a duo that includes ex-Danity Kane member Dawn Richard and singer Kaleena Harper. The group is also featured on Diddy’s upcoming album.
While the concert is free with a Marlins’ game ticket, fans may purchase VIP “Pit Passes” for an additional $25, which allows on-the-field access to the concert.
