The California State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People announced Tuesday that it supports Proposition 19. Group president Alice Huffman says it's backing the initiative to counter marijuana arrest rates she says unfairly target blacks.

International Faith-Based Coalition president Ron Allen is stunned. His Sacramento coalition represents 3,600 congregations.

Allen says most African-American pastors are disappointed with the California NAACP endorsement, saying illicit drugs have a negative impact on the black community.
